Scottish Goat of the Year- Guilden
Candice.
A British Toggenburg second kidder milker sired by Theban Conor
and out of Guilden Celica. Owned and bred by Gordon Webster & Gordon
Smith.
Reserve- Caulan
Mystie.
A HB second kidder milker sired by Guilden Pegasus, out of Caulan Mystic,
owned and bred by Lilian Scobie.
Scottish Male Goat of The Year- Kilbarchan
Moonraker.An Anglo-Nubian 2 year old male, sired by Poplartime
Balthazar and out of Mellan Moneypenny. Owned by Beth Fairley and bred by Helen
Moffat.
Reserve- Guilden Blue.
A British Toggenburg buckling, sired by Acton Rownan, and out of Guilden
Bluemoon. Owned and bred by Gordon Webster & Gordon
Smith.
Scottish Goatling of The Year- Guilden Blossom.
A British Toggenburg sired by Tetherdown Champagne and out of Guilden Bonbon.
Owned and bred by Gordon Webster & Gordon Smith.
Although Blossom was a clear winner, there were 3 goatlings all too close
together to name a reserve!
The Gordon Smith Trophy for the Child Handler of the Year- Becky
Campbell.
9 year old Becky showed her family’s goat, 1st kidder HB milker,
Lovelsglen Dancer in all of the Child Handler classes she entered in.

The Swann Award
Which is won for the best performance of highest average points in milking
competitions.
Overall Winner and winner of the AN best of breed
rosette- Braynusen Bollinger, Sired by Newcairn Aramis and out
of Kilsall Prunella. Owned and bred by Alan Mann
Reserve and BT best of breed rosette- Lochinvar
Inverlace, owned and bred by Sheila Little.
BA best of breed rosette- Carrick
Charity, owned and bred by Linda Shaw.
HB best of breed rosette- McIntyres
Shanna, owned and bred by The McIntyre Family.
No other breeds had any goats qualifying, though to be fair some later
milking competitions were cancelled due to FMD and goats have to attend a
minimum of 3 shows to qualify.
The Silverleas Talisker Trophy, for a
Scottish born BS with the highest average butterfats at any one show and gaining
a minimum of 18 points- Homeacres
Honysuckle. Sired by Homeacres Harvy and out of Homeacres Herb,
owned and bred by Sylvia Mearns.
Last but not least, The Scottish Goatkeepers Federation runs a Prefix of
the Year Award. This covers all of the shows in Scotland, and this year was
won by a clear winner.
Scottish Prefix of the Year- Guilden Gordon Webster & Gordon Smith’s herd from Guildy Den,
Monikie near Dundee.
Reserve prefix- Braynusen- Alan Mann’s herd of
Anglo-Nubian’s.
